Laura's Lifetime Love of Pets
I understand the prominent place your fur babies have in your families, because caring for animals has always been a part of my life. I grew up in a household that always had a cat (or three) as well as an array of small friends including mice, rats, hamsters and fish.
Our animals were always an important part of our family, and I know that without them, my childhood would have been much lonelier. Ever since I’ve had a home of my own, I’ve never been without a cat in my house. Over the years we have adopted several cats through humane societies and rescue organizations, and we have a special place in our hearts for rescues. We currently have two sweet ginger kitties, Jasper and Rowan from The Pixie Project.
Years ago, my sister Eleanor took her background working for the Oregon Humane Society to start her own pet care business and brought me in to help as her business grew. And so began my love of walking and caring for dogs. When COVID came along and my work was disrupted, it was an easy choice to start walking dogs and cat sitting through Rover, not only to bring in needed income but to enjoy the loving company of my furry clients. We fell in love with caring for dogs in our home and decided to open Pooch Patrol as a family endeavor.
I currently work from home running a nonprofit that provides creative enrichment and resources to residents living in affordable housing. Our canine companions keep me company and give me the excuse to break up my workday with play time, walks, and
couch cuddles. My teens love helping with play time and dog walks and love our clients like their extended fur family. They take the responsibility of walking and caring for them seriously. I’m grateful to each of you for sharing your fur babies with me and the boys!

Play & Exercise
Our concrete driveway is about 60' x 20' and where your dog can get its energy out. We have plenty of ChuckIt balls, rubber frisbees, and rope toys for pooches that are high-energy and like to play.
There's a 10' x 10' dedicated area in our backyard where you pet can do its doggie business. It's covered with wood chips which are safe for its paws.
Hanging Out & Sleeping
We have a long 7' couch where your dog is welcome to hang out during its stay. We use a couch cover so it's protected. There's also two armchairs for dogs to relax and look out the window.
Our 6' plush dog bed is cozy for hanging and sleeping too. Downstairs is the doggy den which is perfect for pooches who need space from others or have mobility challenges, like seniors. If your elder dog has special needs, this is a cozy spot for them. There's a place for everyone at our resort!
We don't use crates because we believe an open environment works well for rescues, seniors, and anxious pups. However, if your pup's crate is their happy place, you are welcome to bring it along.
